I never really told people I wanted to be an artist. I had always been creative, and I felt like I was meant to do something with my artistic side as a kid, even if I couldn’t quite see what that would look like.

Growing up, the term “starving artist” was tossed around so casually that making a living through art never felt like a realistic option. So I did what felt responsible and chose the safer career path. Creativity found its way into everything anyway.

Photography chose me first. I’ve now had a camera in my hand for over 20 years, including 13 years spent creating photography, video, and stories in the marketing world. But the work I kept feeling pulled toward was always the personal stuff: real people, beloved pets, little details, and moments that mean something.

Eventually, a paintbrush found its way back into my hand, too. I began creating watercolors of my favorite travel memories, of friends' pets, weddings, homes, and favorite memories. Most of what I know has come from years of experimenting, practicing, and figuring things out as I go, while applying it all to watercolor media.

Feathered Fiasco is me finally trusting that quiet voice that always knew I was meant to create. Based in Fort Walton Beach, I now get to photograph families, couples, beach days, and plenty of dogs while turning meaningful photos into paintings people can hold onto.

When I’m not photographing or painting, I’m planning travel for others as a travel agent, researching my next cruise, or finding somewhere new to explore. Somehow, all the pieces are finally coming together, and I can't wait to see where this new path in life takes me.
